We supplied a series of Kodama tables and Hitoshi chairs for a spacious apartment in Amsterdam on behalf of Ontwerpplek (an interior architecture firm). The apartment is used for work but is also partly a living space for relaxation. Because there was a need for a variable number of workstations for a varying number of people, the Kodama tables and Hitoshi chairs (a design by Bart Vos for Pilat&Pilat) were chosen. The Kodama table series offers various configurations, from large conference tables to smaller workstations that can be divided. The curtains allow the space to be divided into smaller areas, but the whole remains airy and open. The smoked oak of the tables and Hitoshi chairs provide a chic contrast with the light-colored fabrics of the Hitoshi upholstery and the spacious sofa with Italian allure.
